On 14th December 2023, the Department for Education launched a 14-week consultation on the Advanced British Standard (ABS) – a new qualification framework for 16-19-year-olds. The publication of the consultation commences three months of engagement over the design of the new qualification framework, which will inform further policy development, delivery planning and a White Paper next year.
As part of this engagement, the Department for Education’s ABS team are hosting regional events across the country in January and February and would welcome the participation of delegates from the education, skills and business sectors (including schools, FE and HE providers, awarding organisations, business leaders and other education and careers experts) at these events.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear from the Department for Education on the latest policy developments and provide in-depth contributions to key areas of the consultation through small-group discussions.
