2023 cycle updates

This change will allow us to add more exam level reference data in the future. Reference data that uses the increased field length will be used during the ABL period in summer 2022.

This change will allow you see whether an insurance choice was declined automatically or by the applicant.

We're making sure the data fields in Xml-link (system and manual) are aligned with our core database. We'll use the re-configured fields in the 2023 cycle.

As part of a programme of work in place to address some known issues with xml-link we will be addressing a problem with respect to reference data timestamps. While we don't expect for there to be any changes required to student record systems, you can find the technical details of the change in the following briefing document.

We have had feedback from HEPs and student record system vendors who are working on their migrations to our xml-link service that some of its methods do not include the unique identifiers that are present in the equivalent odbc-link views. Based on this feedback, the primary keys (unique identifiers) will be added to the affected xml-link methods as described in the technical briefing document.

We're removing the ability to release a deferred applicant into Clearing from 24 June. From this date you'll need to completely withdraw the application (RW Confirmation Withdrawal). This will enable them to submit a new application if they'd like to.

We started gathering SOC2020 data on UK domiciled applicant’s parental occupations at the start of the 2022 cycle and changes were implemented in June 2021 to allow you to receive this from us.

The second phase of this delivery is to make the data available for HESA returns and this will be delivered during 2022. The technical briefing document was issued last year ahead of the changes and has been updated to reflect the delivery of the second phase into our test environments.
