Link Services
Use our link products to manage your applications – web-link and xml-link.
web-link
web-link is the user interface we provide, to allow you to view and manage your applications in real-time.
Providers of UCAS Undergraduate and UCAS Conservatoires courses use web-link. It is split into two sections:
Applicant data
- View and manage applications.
- Complete Records of Prior Acceptance (RPAs) – for UCAS Undergraduate providers only
- View and maintain offer abbreviations.
Decisions are made in real-time, so applicants can view your decision as soon as it's submitted. Please check it's correct before sending.
Institution data
- Maintain your institution information, e.g. contact details.
- Manage web-link user accounts.
- Access Application/Decision Tracker.
xml-link
xml-link (Extensible Mark-up Language) is a web service. It allows you to connect to the UCAS database and push and pull information through your own student management tool, such as:
- applicant data
- offers
- reports relating to the management of applications
Development work is required, by either your in-house IT team or student management software provider, to view the data in your system(s). You will also need an xml web services client to access the data.
Unlike web-link, where updates are made real-time, xml-link users can choose how often they wish to send and receive data to and from UCAS.
